The Dujmic campaign received a major boost late yesterday when it received the endorsement of United States Senator Kirsten Gillibrand.

Senator Gillibrand announced: “Joe Dujmic is the right choice to fight for Long Island’s hard-working families and taxpayers. I wholeheartedly endorse him.”

Kirsten Gillibrand is the junior United States Senator from the State of New York and an attorney. Prior to serving New York State as its Senator, Ms. Gillibrand was twice elected to the United States House of Representatives, from New York’s 20th congressional district.

Assembly Candidate Joe Dujmic Calls For State Boater’s Licsense

New York State Assembly candidate Joe Dujmic today announced a Safe Waterways Act he would introduce in Albany which would, for the first time, require all persons operating a boat to have a state-authorized license, conditioned upon passage of an approved safe boating course and proper liability insurance.

To avoid added layers of bureaucracy, Dujmic’s proposed legislation would simply add a boating classification to drivers’ licenses issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles. Dujmic is the Democratic candidate in the 10th Assembly District, which covers the northwestern corner of Suffolk County comprising of most of the Town of Huntington and parts of Babylon.

County Executive Bellone was joined by legislators and the Long Island Contractors Association (LICA) at the signing of the approval for $32 million in capital projects to be commenced in Suffolk County in 2012.

The sixteen projects, inclusive of four emergency bridge repairs, serve to improve Suffolk County’s infrastructure and are expected to create more than 300 jobs within the next year.

The projects include repairs and improvements of bridges, energy efficiency and conservation projects at county facilities, repair and resurfacing of county roadways, roadway drainage improvements, elevator system improvements and upgrades at county facilities, exterior structural improvements and replacement of traffic signals.
